if its an r200 300zx diff the N/A diff had 4.08 final drive.

My only qualm.. Does this design rely on the stock windshield surround for support in a roll?

^ Yeah, basically like any other roll bar. Roll bars always rely on windshield frame, however I believe I read (have seen pictures as well) where the S2000 Windshield frame is extremely stout, unlike miatas and a few other conv.
