anything over 18psi would be not too safe on pump. The higher octane levels will not only allow you to tune more agressively but will also prevent detonation. The higher octane rating will resist combustion from all that compression....

I'm a FI novice so take it for what its worth. It seem to me you are trying to keep up with cars that run (for reference) 11-12 second 1/4 miles. I dont think you would need to put down 600 hp to do that. You may be just as succesful and more realiable going a little less agressive.

not at all, we ran 10.6 at just 490 at the wheels on a street tire. Running 11s you would need 400 range.

Is this for turbos only as they reach max boost for long periods per gear? I'm at 1.4 BAR with my CTSC... obviously peak boost.

Certainly applies more to turbos for that reason, but it's still applicable to SCs.

But then it's a matter of tuning. If you're running well without knock as you are then ok. You may find though that the tuner pulled more timing to accommodate the boost and pump gas however.
