Default 7 PSI S/C with Stock Injectors Poll

Hi,

for the last couple days i read nearly all threads about this topic. The answers are extremely different, some say i should get bigger injectors, others say upping the fuelpressure will be enough.

I have a Comptech SC + Aftercooler + Tech2Drew 7 PSI Pulley + Greddy E-Manage + PLX Wideband Gauge.

So i could also use bigger injectors, but honestly the stories i have read about bad idle and part throttle with bigger injectors makes me nervous.

That is way i start this poll, just to find out how your setups work. I am happy for every help you can give me.

I'm not voting because I have never dynoed my car, but with a newly installed AEM UEGO, I'm getting 12.2 a/f at WOT in the upper rpm band. This is with a totally stock and original Vortech A/C kit - never tuned, never tweaked. The car has never given me any cause for concern and it has been running very well for almost 2 years. I'm happy that I never messed with a good thing.

Thanks Xviper your answer let me go a big step in direction "stock injectors". Of course i have to test and maybe finetune it, but the most important thing is, that the stock injectors are good enough for 7 PSI.

Hey, I spoke to you a few times. I have 7 psi and stock injectors with just the FPR turned up. Dynoed fne. Still havent gotten my emanage installed yet. Waiting for summer. Even then, Im still running the stock injectors. They should be fine for under 330 hp applications. The one guy here is up to 325 whp and still usind them. The only thing is dont stay in boost for long periods of a time, like over 10 sec.

I have the same worries about larger injectors. Idle problems.

Doesn't the fmu adjust when it sees more bosst. I don't see why it would be a problem at idle using bigger injectors. Same thing when you got with a bigger pully.

If you are running 7psi (with A/C) and upping the FPR you shouldn't stay in boost or more than 10 seconds? I mean, if I'm going to track the car at all I'll be in the upper RPMs and boost for long periods of time, is this going to damage my car?

The fuel pressure adjustability is the problem. At lower fuel pressures on a bigger injector the fuel atomization is less than ideal compared to a smaller or stock injector. This will cause the motor to sputter and idle roughly because you are not able to burn the air/fuel mixture (or lack there of) efficiently.
