Doing some investigating. Did a search in the forum @ Evans-tuning.com (throttle body). Jeff Evans stated he has tuned more than a few 500+hp cars on stock TB.

My head will be utilizing stock ports and valve sizes. So if I can't flow more CFM @
a certain PSI where's the benefit to me. Going from stock to 70mm 10-12hp gain,
possibility of smoother driveability suggests a 70mm might be better suited for my
application.
When I was NA I went with the Proflow that increased the size a couple mm. It was enough. Much less expensive path too.

Grind off the rivets. then use a threaded allen bolt to secure it on to the new TB

I used a craftsman broken screw removal bit... first you drill the screw then you back it out with screw extractor. VERY EASY, the stock TPS is attached with screws not rivets, they simply have heads that break off once they are torqued down to ensure they are not tampered with.

I have been using a 74mm TB for a couple of years. My original one had the same piece on the butterfly crack in half as it did on Spoolin's.

The main issue I have come across with TBs of this size is related to the actual decreased sensitivity range of throttle pedal travel. Based off TPS % on the AEM, I am at 80% throttle with in the first 2.5" of throttle stroke. The pedal is therefore more sensitive. I actually prefer it, but as noted by others it does make the car a bit more touchy. Personally, the response is worth it and like anything, you will get used to it.

It's the transition back in to a bone stock street car that allows you to really notice the nuances.
