Every motor has a breaking point.

This is impressive no doubt.

I'm awaiting ET/MPH times, and an update at the end of the season on this motor.

This car definitely has enough power to go 9's.

I'm not hating at all, but honestly you have to be kidding yourself if you think the stock motor isn't on borrowed time at these power levels.
Carey i agree with you 100%!! While this is impressive and i give props where its due... This is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Pushing the limits of a stock motor if you have the funds to replace it is one thing... But if you don't have the funds to pop a motor" and possibly other things it may take out" and laugh about it while you throw the built one in that's setting there on the stand is another.

Keep telling yourself that.
Just wondering but where do u feel the limit of the motor is for longevity? 600? 650?

What kind of power do you make?

The motor is stout that for sure. I think the magic number is 700whp. I THINK it could last a good amount of time around there but once you go over that im sure its just waiting to go. Lets see someone make 800whp.

Although mine was on a dynapack, id like to see someone top my 772whp number.

Id be more happy to see someone with a built trans and rear run a mid 9 on a bone stock motor.

You go LJ! This is the real test of the stock block right here guys. With no 3mm HG or ARP headstuds either and thats insane!
We will test it Chad! Id hate to be without the car with the weather we are having here but if she pops then she pops. I just have to save it for atleast a day at the track to really test it. If she holds up fine then back on the dyno and we are going to pack more boost in it.

My personal opinion........I don't think any 4 cylinder motor making 650+whp has a real long life, regardless of whether it's built or not....haha. Unless it just sits in a garage.

Last year I dyno'd at 26psi and it made 680whp. We ran 28psi when I went 9's. We were still making about 20-22whp per psi of boost so it should've been around 720whp or so. On pump gas w/ water/meth injection.

I think if you drive the car like a normal human being, and treat it right the motor can last just fine in the upper 600's, I plan to push my motor to around 650whp, not that I don't think the motor can do more, just that I want it to last and I don't need more than that on a street car lol, my car will daily drive around 500whp but I want the bragging right for 650whp, to have alittle fun on the weekends...

I would like to see 800whp outta the stock engine tho, that would be amazing! Also see what it does down the 1320....

Why would anyone drive a car with 650whp like a normal human being??? I drive my stock Excursion like that.

Hey, you asked my opinion. I know you didn't want to hear it, but I just gave it like you asked.

I have a lot of confidence in the stock block. I really think it can take it just fine. Even John Lee from IP said the stock block is good for 800 hp, which is around 700 whp. Ya said the rods are very strong and that the rod bolts were pretty much insane on the stock rods if I remember correctly.

Also, IP believes in the stock block if they are now producing lower CR CP pistons for the stock sleeves and still utilizes the stock rods. They must also know the stock block can handle it if they are going this route I would assume. I'm not too sure what they rate this type of engine build at but I'm sure its around 800 hp.
