9psi tuned w/ vafc
as we all know, pushing 9psi with a comptech supercharger will require more fuel. obviously an aem ems is probably the best road to choose. but from what i've been told, running 550cc or 650cc injectors and lowering fuel pressure w/ just a vafc will be sufficient to tune 9psi (lowering due to more fuel available using the same duty cycle as with the stock injectors). i'm not looking to go further than 9psi, and if this holds true i'd rather save an extra several hundred dollars and purchase just the vafc. i can't see myself spending a grand on something that i won't be able to use to it's full potential. has anyone successfully tuned 9psi w/ just bigger injectors and a vafc?

The VAFC does not control injector pulse. What it does is reduce/increase map voltage and the stock ECU compensate injector pulse accordingly. This will be hard/close to impossible to tune to a good setup. Not to mention other parameters like idling.
If you want to get to a safe level without spending that much, I would suggest getting an Emanage with at least Injector harness.

The VAFC is pretty good at flashy lights, but not much else for tuning a SC'd car at that psi.
check out Mohdparts.com for an e-manage, you'll need larger some larger injectors, and remove the FMU as well. Most people have much better results using a AEM EMS.

while the vafc may take care of your fueling needs... you've forgotten the other very important factor... Ignition timing.
the vafc can not control the ignition timing.
these motors are very high compression.
get an engine management that will allow the engine to be properly tuned and take it to a compotent tuner (which can be hard to find)
