Clutch buzz should be pretty minimal with any current OEM friction disk. Are you still running an early ap1 clutch? OEM friction disc on an upgraded PP is a great way to go for like stock feel but increased holding capacity. How much trq are you putting down, or going to be putting down?
Yeah mines an 00' with stock clutch, car used to have greddy turbo set up so clutch has been through a lot. Buzz is so loud it sound like the body rubbing on the tires when i slow down
Yeah as suspected. Your running on a very old friction disc that has gone through some revisions to take care of that very thing. Just replacing with a current OEM off the shelf will eliminate 90% of it, and it is a smooth engaging reliable friction disc to use with a higher holding capacity Pressure Plate. I would stay away from puck type clutches if you don't need one which for your power anticipations, you wont. Act PP is rated for 380lb. Its a stiffer clutch pedal, but it is a proven combination with the OEM disc. its a bit more then you need however. I run the SOS sport clutch, its good for 255trq/400whp they say, but Ive already exceeded that without a hint of slippage issue, and I know some others have as well, so its clearly underrated. I will find out by how much this summer. The pedal pressure is easy like stock, no real change, you may experience a little bit of chatter with that clutch however, I mainly did in reverse for what ever reason, after swapping in a oem disc that went away. Holding capacity will be unaffected, since that's not the duty of the friction disc.
