Default AEM 1012 HELP

Hey all,

Quick question, I recently purchased a turbo kit with an AEM 1012, and already having an AEM 1052, I decided to sell the 1012. Now, my dilemma is I have the 1012 ready to ship to my buyer, but I want to take the map off of it before I do so. How do I make a copy of the map before shipping it? Do I need to install it in my car to do this? Or can I somehow hook it up to my computer in my home? I've never messed with an AEM before and am clueless.

Thanks for your help and quick responses.

Nobody knows how to download a map off of the AEM EMS? Does it need to be in the car in order to have power to it and retreive the map?

it needs to be in your car. might just need power, not 100% sure.

open your AEM pro, once it connects it should start downloading a log that defaults to WORKMAP.(version of AEM).cal. that should be the current map that was used.

I don't think you can just upload a 1012 map to a 1052 and run it without problems. I believe you have to change some parameters. Can anyone confirm this?

That is correct, there are different parameters between the 12 and 52 unit. Which specifically, I couldn't comment on but I know people have problems by simply switching between units. You'll have to have your map modified for the new unit.
