Default AEM boost gauge install?

I installed my boost gauge last night went around the block to just see it only go up to 6-7 psi I mean I'm not running 30 psi but at 8.5 that's what I expecting it to say but never passed 7 so my question is did I install right? Did I tap the right vacuum line? The line I taped is the vacuum line from the intake manifold to the BOV and wastegate. Is there a different line it's supposed to go to? I know that I should be at 8.5 psi cause that's what my waste get spring is and no boost controller just wastegate. Any help is muchly appreciated thanks in advance

Just because your wastegate spring is rated for a certain pressure it does not mean you will hit exactly that.
