Default aem or haltech

im in the market to buy either a aem emsv2 or haltech im not sure which to buy was looking at the aem for awhile because it has been in my car before and like the way it operates...now i see haltech has a computer thats pnp also i was reading some of the features of the 1 that i like the most is the check engine light control function that allows u to keep ur cel so far from what i see i like both ecus but not sure which would be a better choice...im leaning more towards haltech just for the cel option..what do u guys think?

my setup so far

fbm twinscroll sidewinder
gt35r with 1.06 hotside
2 44mm tail waste gate
fbm 3" down pipe
3" ic pipes
tail 50mm bov
precision 750 ic
id2000
-8 feed -6 return

Pending parts
fbm fuel rail
fbm twin pump hanger
2 fbm340 pumps
fbm headstuds
aem ems v2 or haltech platinum pro

im trying to make 550-600 i will be using e85/e98

its been said 1000 times.. one more wont hurt.

ask your tuner. both will run the car just fine and do everything you could ever want, but if the guy tuning it doesnt know how to use it it's junk.

I also heard haltech as a PNP harness that will allow it to run in tandum with the factory ecu and retain your obdII port for emmission. I'm not sure if this is true or not. Can anyone confirm?

Not true; haltech is not making a harness. Some other companies are making them, though. They arent working perfectly yet.

My best suggestion to you is to ask your tuner. If you're going to compare features. I would recommend Haltech as it has a few more features than the AEM and is constantly being updated.

AEM Series2!!!!! We just had mine on the dyno with TONS of features hooked up and working flawlessly.

Just curious, what features does a Haltech have that the Series2 doesn't have?

Haltech isn't making the harnesses, FullBlown makes one that is OBD-II compliant. I used to have the Haltech PS500 with their harness. I did not get the emissions done while it was on so I can't say for sure if it did the job it was supposed to or not . Haltech just came out for 00-05 years on their Pro-Plug-In...

All in all, a majority of the tuners out there know AEM more than Haltech. At least in my area....

Like said, check with tuner. I vote AEM though.

Why not get the Kpro?

The Haltech PS500 has "most" of the capabilities as the v1 has; and the PS1000 has "most" of the capabilities as the v2 has. So I have been told...

I tune a lot of Series 2 cars. I like the Series 2. So this is an unbiased opinion.

Mainly engine protection features. Coolant temperature, oil pressure, coolant pressure, air temperature, exhaust gas temperature and the biggest one fuel pressure. You're able to do fuel enrichment, ignition retard, boost correction and/or a rev limiter based on all these with a definable minimum time. There are also features I as a tuner like that don't affect you.
