Default AEM sensors

hello everyone

i need to add some gauges to my setup but i dont really like gauges.
so i thought of a car pc always connected to AEM ems.
the idea is something like this

i want to monitor

oil pres
oil temp
water temp
boost
a/f ratios

what sensors do i need to buy?
for example i think that i dont need a water temp sensor or i do

You'll need the oil pressure sensor, oil temp sensor for sure. Water is already there. Boost, you'll read off the map sensor you put in (stock won't work more than likely) and if you want true a/f ratios you need a wideband o2 sensor.

Or you can just get the AEM 19-1 serial gauge which basically does the same thing. If you are not street tuning every time you drive, I think the car pc might be overkill.

Well, you'll still need the sensors obviously. I have the serial gauge right now - personally, if I had to do it over I wouldn't get it again. It's a PIA to program and isn't as flexible as they make it out to be.

I dont like Gauges also,I like the Cool clean stock look, but i Put OLD school HKS black, black face, Amber light just like the Tacho on my Apillar for oil temp and pressure(i dont have a pic of them in my car on me but will take one in a week or so and post it) and the Zeitronix covering the AF,Boost and EGT on my radio Door.
the car still looks Clean.
so i suggest you go this way if you do it.

Plus i have the warning beeper also that you can see near the Airvents-its audio-visual one and you can use it for what ever you set it at Zeitronix,a Rev beeper or so ...
I use it if the TPS is over 95% and the AF is over 15 to sound an alarm

Here are the gauges i bought from Japan.
they are great...

And here is my car just for show off./..clean

thanks for the reply guys.

so i need 3 sensors
oil pressure
oil temp
O2

i was thinking of drilling the dash in order to have 5 defi amber gauges that i really like them but the cost was a bit less than the car pc.

so with almost the same money i will have gauges , navigation , tv , mp3 player
and more, so ithing that its a good idea

i will post pictures as soon as i have it on.
on 20/8 i will be drilling

You can just run the 19-1 serial gauge. Once you have it programmed you will be able to monitor all of the AEM telemetry channels.

As stated above, you will need an O2, a 0-100 pressure, and a temp sensor (just get a GM one, unless you really like to spend money).

Use the available ADCR inputs for your Oil sensors (the o2 is just your cars primary spliced in). Then take about an hour and configure Gauge Pro to display everything you would like to see.
One gauge, and your done.

I'm in the same place just about to fit an AEM 1052U
Contemplated the carputer idea but the screen size is going to make seeing anything or adjusting the view on the move very awkward.
Love the idea of the logging, sat nav, mp3 player all in one
I'm also not sure where or how to mount a decent size touch screen for a carputer that looks tidy (JDM Sat Nav bezel?).
My other concern with the carputer is the robustness and reliability of a PC in a lowered and tuned S

But the serial gauge seems a great solution for all the engine info in one gauge. Seems like it is a PITA to set up.
You also cannot run logging on a laptop with the gauge connected. It's one or the other

I'm going to add a few other sensors to those above.
Ambient temp
Inlet manifold temp
