AEM Tru Boost Gauge or Haltech Flex Fuel? Or both?
Hey guys, I'm about to install a Haltech flex fuel sensor and Haltech ECU, I need a boost gauge and I've just seen the AEM Tru Boost gauge which reads boost plus acts as an electronic boost controller too via the use of a solenoid set up in the engine bay.
Does anyone know if my Haltech Flex Fuel sensor does the same job automatically as the AEM tru boost? Or can I run them both?
I thought the flex fuel allows 2 different tunes (Petrol vs E85) and the AEm Tru Boost can control it. However I can't find anywhere online that can confirm this.
Thanks for any help!

Is anyone running both of these in their boosted S2k? Some hands on experiemnce would be good.
So far ive been told they fight each other (lol) and another saying they do completely different things.

The ktuner has flex fuel and boost control... Not as capable or cool as a haltech tho.
Oh I'm sorry just woke up. Thought y meant bbg and flex fuel... Meant for nguyen

You just need a boost gauge. The aem true boost is for people that dont have ecu's that control boost. The point of running a flex flex sensor is so that you can run an ecu that is compatible with a flex fuel tune. All you need is a standard $30 three port mac boost solonoid and you wire that in to your haltech or aem version 2. Now the ecu can control boost. Then you wire flex fuel sensor into the aem/haltech and the ecu can now see the ethanol content of your fuel. Then you tune the car on straight pump 91/93 octane. Then you tune the car on e85. Then you blend both tunes and you can now run 91/93 octane and blen it with e85. there is no switching maps or draining the fuel to go from 91 octane to e85. The ecu will automatically raise the boost and raise the timing when there is larger amount of ethanol in the tank.
This is what i do but i run the aem series 2. Getting a full flex fuel tune for a turbo car is one of the best things out there and is by far one of my favorite mods.
I would also get an ethanol content gauge as well. You splice the output wire from the flex fuel sensor so 1 wire goes to the ecu and 1 wire goes to the gauge. Personally i run the zextronix ethanol gauge.
