Wow, you guys are both correct. One point will be awarded to both of you!
I'm not sure about the other guy, but I wasn't vying for "points". My only purpose is to ensure the best information gets out there.

My summary:

When using water, use deionized or distilled water to avoid mineral build up.

Don't use plain water due to corrosion.

Water wetter added to water or antifreeze mix will increase heat transfer.

Water pump lubrication is not an issue with aftercooler pumps.

Cold climates require protection against freezing usually with a glycol antifreeze.

Water wetter being a surface active agent will allow coolant to leak easier from loose or inadequately sealed fittings.

Water wetter, antifreeze and water are all compatable.

Dilution recommendations (glycols and water wetter) are printed on the container labels. Water wetter is recommended at one ounce per quart of water.

First of all, VTEC has no bearing upon the aftercooler cooling system. It is run by a constant velocity pump. When your ignition is ON, the pump is ON. It doesn't change with the changes in rpm or VTEC.
Any new cooling system will take 2 to 3 driving cycles to completely burp out all the air. If you have topped it off 2 to 3 times now and it still requires more fluid, then you have a small leak someplace.
i'm still observing the coolant every time i drive the car. so i'm not sure if it is or isn't a leak. is it normal though for coolant to evaporate>?

There should be no evaporation. The system is closed. Keep adding and look for leaks.

the coolant looks good so far. it might of just taken awhile to get all the air bubbles out of the aftercooler.
