Default air pump

why do you guys remove it?i figure its gotta be weight savings/its a waste of space/no room after installing intercooler piping.i was going to remove the pump but didnt want the check engine light so i just remounted it in a new location.

Mine fits fine with my ultimate racing FMIC. I don't know where I'm going to attach the hose yet, though. I need to get 2 bungs added to my inlet pipe.

The air pump injects air into the exhaust on initial startup for emision purposes until the cat and the O2 sensors warm up enough to do their job. When you go turbo, emisions go out of the window for the most part... you are already killing trees as you drive by . Also, a stand-alone like AEM EMS doesn't have OBD-II instructions in it, so the pump serves no purpose.

Because it sucks fat donkey balls and blows. I just found it is the cause to my long time CEL... pulled it out and it destroyed the plastic housing before burning up and seizing up. It now is only good as a paper weight or to pop $20 fuses

Just put a filter on the end of the hose and call it a day.

AEM EMS doesn't use it so why bother -- just take it out?
