Default AIT sensor install on 06+

Hey guys, I'm starting my turbo build in the next few weeks. I have a MY06 and need to install my AIT sensor in the charge pipe. I know where to put it, I just don't know how to secure it in the pipe.

Will drilling a hole and using a rubber grommet work in a boosted application? I don't want the sensor shooting out under pressure or have it leak any pressure. What are the 06+ guys doing?

I have a trackforged kit with a precision 6262 if it matters. Charge pipes are powder coated wrinkle black.

I tried searching, couldn't find anything helpful. Thanks

Yes that works. I just sent a member an extra tb piping set that already had that done, in case he ever needed it.

I had a iat sensor groumet leak on the dyno from that type of placement. I just welded a 1/8 npt bung on the charge pipe and am using the t1 race development iat sensor that is compatible with the Honda or Flashpro Ecu without any fuss. Reads slightly cooler but consistently along the range so it easy enough to compensate for. No leaks

I tried the grommet with my car but couldnt stop it from leaking and popping out. I ended up using an old honda ac expansion block and cutting it down and welding it to the pipe. Kraftwerks also used to sell there fitting separately but i think there out of business now. The best solution is ptunings charge pipe. I dont know if they will sell it separately though. If your gonna keep it under 10psi the grommet will probably hold. Mine failed quickly at 12.

I order the bungs from kraftwerks they work great I had mines welded on the intake manifold. The cost about 25 bucks
