Default Another diff down the drain

So i was going uphill the other day and decided to give it a little gas. everything seemed fine but i noticed it didnt pull like usual. Now when i hit the gas I have this crazy humming noise coming from the rear, i changed the fluid which was 65 miles old and fine bits of metal came out... a good amount. so the new diff was ordered and should be here in a few days. my buddy at honda told me that there is now 1 05 differential left in the country and from my year (00) it is on backorder. once the new diff is here im going to take it all apart and see what went wrong. ill post some pics. btw diffs from honda are super expensive! almost as expensive as a new trans. wtf honda!

your going to blow it up again if you do not take care of it. Stock differentials are very weak.

DONT spend the money on a brand new diff from honda.. you are going to just break it again.

Fit a NB model Miata crownwheel/pinion to it. Bolts straight in. Lasting much longer than the Honda one did in my F20C based race car.

exactly. I dont know why you spent money to buy a new diff when you could have 1: checked the internet for a used one for sale, or 2: got a reinforced diff from puddymod for the same amount or less
