Default another turbo oil return line fitting question

sorry for the question, i know its probably been asked before but here goes anyway. im about to weld the fitting for the oil return line onto my oil pan and im thinking of welding it right over the drain plug as high as possible. it seems like a good location above the deepest part of the pan. has anyone tried this with any success or failure? any info would be great. im trying to do this tonight, help please.
