If you're going for pure engine power and part availability, you're better bet will be the AP1.

To answer your question about which one has more torque down low, that goes to the AP2, but remember the AP1 revs up to 9k rpm, where the AP2 revs up to 8k rpm. If you are looking to get one or the other, I would suggest goingand driving one of each ans see what you like better. I cannon help you with which is better for forced induction or which one has "more potential" though. I agree with the above statement that you would have an easier time finding things for the AP1 than the AP2 since it has been around longer.

Ap2 has more torque and hp throughout the rpm range, but has 1000 less rpms for putting down high hp. peak power is ~5-15whp higher depending on the car, but due to the RPM difference, they are pretty even stock vs stock. Which one is better for FI? Well that depends on the application. If you stick on a small turbo thats going to lose steam by 8000rpm, you won't see a benefit from an extra 1000rpm on the Ap1. If youre using a big ass turbo or supercharger, you're going to appreciate the extra rpms. For example, people putting down massive power with a blower are seeing peak power at 9300+ rpm, so with an AP2 revving to 8k, you won't get close to peak.

uhm no? The newer the newer. plus some of his questions most likely wouldn't be answered in the typical ap1 or ap2 thread.

i traded my 03 in for an 06. the ap1 is an awesome car. but, IMO, the ap2 is a better looking car. there are some differences in driving. having a 9k redline did make the car feel faster, but the torque difference in the ap2 is definitley a plus! i went with the 06 just because it was newer, a fresh style and a few extra gadgets. of course, the newer it is, doesnt make it better. but, to find an ap1 with low miles wont be easy. if its in your price range, i would recommend getting one new, 06/07. if you want the extra safety, the vsa is a great feature, and yeah, i was one of those guys that said "screw vsa", "it takes away the rawness". its a great feature. hope this could be some help.

oh yeah, and for FI, i wouldnt go with an 06/07. i think its too 'sensorized' for boost. but i think vortech is coming out with a kit for the 06's.

All the more reason to get a more reliable AP2

anybody asking the question, "which model s2k is better?" needs to watch battles at 10,000rpm. that'll answer all your questions. if you cant trust what tsuchiya san has to say about the ap2, i dont kno what to tell you.

the most important thing to remember is this. it doesn't matter which model you get. you will have a hell of time driving either model.
