Just blew my 2nd gear today, I have a spare ap2 transmission but don't want it to affect my 3.9 final drive gear set. Has anyone put a ap1 reduction gear and shaft in a ap2 transmission with good results?

 

Ballade Sports has done a huge amount of the opposite, to make an AP1 tranny have similar 1-4 gearing to the AP2, but not the opposite to my knowledge. I'd be interested in that to be able to have longer 6th gear for the freeway driving.

 

I posted this on face book and CNC speedshop does this all the time. I dont have any time to work on the car for a few weeks so I have to wait to take it all apart and fix it. I don't know how you guys with really high power are running stock drivetrain and not allways breaking things. I'm only running 15 pounds of boost broke 1 diff, 1 axle,and 1 transmission. To get this car were I want it going to have to spend around 20k, I really love this car but with all the money I would have into it, I could have just bought a better car. Any thoughts?

I feel that way sometimes. I guess this is the world of FI. It's only fun when everything is working properly. I know what you mean about money/buying a better car. Every mod I do or part I need to replace/fix I'm like "I guess I did have enough money to put down on gtr..." Smh

I try to hwy pulls/stupid stuff in 3rd gear and above to minimize stress on the drivetrain. Hang in there!
