Default AP1 turbo soon!

I have heard from a few people that before I add a turbo to my car, I should do lots of mods to the engine. My car has 115k miles, some guys that I speak to are saying that there's no need (since all I want is 350WHP) only do valves, head studs and head gasket..... Who should I believe? I want this car to be a daily driver, and be able to hold 350whp.... Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

i would just do a compression test (and leak down test if you have the tester/ compressor) and if it's good, 350whp shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't tested the compression yet, and I'll let you know as I do, but do you know what should the compression be?

For just 350 is compression comes back good just do the basic retainers that are a must on AP 1 anyway and you're good real street made 713 on stock head studs yes that's rare but tons have made mid 400s that way

i have 365 on 14psi for almost a year now on stock everything. not one problem. you should be good. but if you feel the need to swap out the valve springs and retainers, go ahead. wouldnt hurt anything.

You do not need to upgrade your headgasket

If engine is healthy boost away. Don't cheap out, buy quality parts and get a good tune!

These engines can handle a lot! If early AP1 upgrade the oil jet bolts. Inspect retainers. If any cracked get ap2 if not you can leave them alone or still upgrade to ap2. Up to you.

My f20 has 185k miles on it now. Boosted since 125k and making over 400whp on 12.5 psi with a vortech sc.
