Default Attn: Vortech Owners

Last week, after real hard drive(over 30 mins of straight VTEC), the bolt to stock idler pulley have broken off.

It seems like bolt couldnt take any more viberation from engine/charger.

It caused stock idler pulley to stuck and stock belt slippage occured.(NOT the S/C belts)
The bearing in idler pulley was also toasted and I also had to refabricate the spacer that Vortech supplied.

For those who track your car, PLEASE replace this bolt to high-strength bolts.
Vortech's bolt is just normal zinc bolt, but I have replaced it to carbon-steel bolts after this issue.

There have been a few SC tensioner bolts broken, mostly from the PITA location of ther locknut on the tensioner.

This is the 1st failure of the SC mounting bolt through the stock belt idler pulley that I have heard of.
