If some of you read my babbling on the Rx forum you might have read my paper on homoginization. If you want to read that paper it is on page five of my thread and is shown as an attachment. I think it is page five, if not it's close, you'll find it along with some other good things you can use to study engine performance.

Found it its on page 4 about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Your link to the topic is correct. You and I are both wrong. I said 5, you said 3.
So add them together and divide by two. Page 4.
Don't forget the additional paper at the top of page 5.

No matter what answer I give you I'll regret it. Nothing ever goes along as planed when R&D is undertaken. We are just now about to do the Rx8 install. We expect that to start in about 4-6 weeks. How many problems and redesigns will be involved is anyones guess. That car is going to be harder as no electronics have surfaced that make it easy.

What happens there will for sure make it quicker to develop the S2000 unit. There is more room in the Honda plus there are several piggyback electronic controls that have been applied to it by others. We know how much power can be produced with what nozzles and so on.

If we hadn't commited to the Mazda program it might have been more logical to do this car first. But it is done and we will push on. On the bright side the compressor may very well be the same, save some mounting points. If the compressor curve can span both engines it will help time and money.

There may be a big difference because it looks like the compressor might be mounted in front of the engine. This requires a reverse rotation compressor.
Becoming a unique unit to us. This adds costs and requires us to stock more inventory. Results are higher consumer pricing.
The other way would require a new intake manifold. Costs again. Time investment also something you don't want to hear.

I'll be keeping you posted time to time. Please remember that we are not taking a turbo off the shelf from another manufacturer and building a kit. That is what the turbo guys do. Not knocking it.. Just that I have to design a compressor, also build the kit. So cut me some slack I'll be asking plenty of questions of you guys along the way so as to meet the best customer needs.

Thanks, Richard

Richard,

Thanks for trying to answer my question. I can appreciate the unpredictability of future, and the potential for R&D, manufacturing, sales and distribution issues.

Not to knock this thread or the guys that post here in any way, but to me it seems this thread is chock full of technical theory examined and debated back and forth and that's the way it will go for the foreseeable future. This is not bad, it's just (embarrassingly) well over my puny head and really not my cup of tea.

So, I'll unsubscribe. When this unit is ready for action please send me a pm.

As a final note, I wish to commend the you and folks who have posted here for the collegial atmosphere that has been fostered throughout the thread.

Good luck.
