quality and fast production cycle = high cost
quality and cheep = long lead times
fast production and cheep= low quality

RR is designing these with quality and with a reasonable price in mind ($4500 approx for the RX8 with re-flash hardware and software) however flash is non adjustable by the consumer to keep people from blowing up there engines and blaming it on the blower since they messed with the tune.
