Before you go Turbo!
I had a vision of what I wanted my S2000 to be. I failed myself buy going Greddy and here is why. I was to eager to go Turbo and I thought 300RWHP would be enough, and its not. It is nice I can edge out a Porsche Cayman S, but I want to be able to edge out/keep up with a Z06.
For the money I spent, I could have spent a little more, went with Inline, upgraded if I wanted to and put down 500RWHP, that to me is what I want.
.
Whether I street race is not really the issue, I want to KNOW I can pull a new M3, not wonder.
My vision has alwasy been , OEM Lip, Black Hardtop, black wheels, Black Gt WIng, Red Wildwood brakes, and a track worthy suspension. I havent lost sight of it, I just have to start over, (or I could do all the above with the Greddy Kit and have a nice lilttle track car), but I want a beast that looks nasty as well.
So I want to caution some of you potential FI guys to take the time to really research, becuase you get used to 300RWHP, and it really doesnt allow you to whoop as like you think it would, fact is many sedans come with much more power then that off the showroom floor. I know HP numbers arent everything but I think the S should be a 11 second monster
So anyway spend the money and EITHER GO BIG OR DONT BOTHER.
What I might do is continue on the Wheels/brakes/suspension/wing mods and save the 10k I would spend on another Turbo kit and use it towards my Black SRT-10

to the fellow about platform, I think the S has a great Platform. I mean 500RWHP is a lot cheaper to get on a mustang, but the S will outhandle most anything, and it is just so goddamn beautiful to look at
I'm sorry to hear about your "failure" JoeyBalls.
I too have been in your shoes. I've wanted something so bad and got its cheaper counterpart right away, when it wasn't what I wanted in the first place.
Try not to regret your choice, but rather reflect upon it. Life is always giving us lessons to learn from.
Keep your head up and I'm sure you will reach your ultimate goal.

hehe I told myself the same thing. I did the IP kit but didn't go with the HG since I thought ~360hp was going to be good enough. Only 1 year later, I added another 200hp onto that number and I'm starting to get used to it again
Definitely going to need more then 300hp to keep up with a z06, more like 450

I can relate to you, however I think once you get the set up you want you will be more than happy. You can also save or teh viper but you may always have that feeling what if, I had the S at this level of speed. I say after reading your many posts, you will be happy with the inline kit at high boost.
For what it cost to get that kind of power, it's cheaper to buy it. Check out the new RS4. My kid has one and it eats me and has a warranty. It will also chew up a z06 and handle better or as well as either on the track whether it's twisties or in a straight line.
