Berk Header: in search of 600whp

awesome job man! thats very nice for a 1500 blower on this motor!
but its crazy the difference in boost it takes on the same blower to make that kind of HP. i just bought a 1500 for my vette, and the kid who had it on before me made 684whp with it, running a lot less than 25lbs.
i remember scott mentioning something about stalling the blower, are you having any issues with it right now? i think the blower/setup still has some HP left in it, it just has to be freed up! looks like you're on the right track!

Yeah Scott and I are working on fine tuning other areas for that last bit. AP1 intake cam, larger TB, SP exhaust cutout, "reworked" have to wait to see this one intake mani, aftercooler, and maybe a new collector etc.

I kind of disagree with this slightly.
the correct way would be to have the setup tuned to its maximum potential with the current combination of parts, THEN re tune the new setup with the new combination of parts so it is running optimally.
That would give you a true comparison when swapping out just a single item.
bad tune with one header vs. a good tune with a different header isn't a fair comparison.
good tune on both is a fair assessment of the power gained by just swapping the header.

So what gains were made with the T1R over OEM?
And someone needs to update there power chart. Sideways is going to be pissed

Ill agree with this. Just didnt want people to think we were sand bagging to show false gains with one header over the other. If anything, in this case the T1R was at advantage of the better tune. The Berk was just "added" and not tuned to its full potential yet.

so did you retune yet? or you're waiting for the other stuff to be completed then retune?

Haha, you're also working with more than double the displacement and twice the cylinders. All in good fun. The blower still seems to be making power well. I have not noticed any stalling, still seeing good gains out of each RPM increment. Jimmy at Paxton agrees Im still in the efficiency range, although the top of it.

I have a set of cams out of Scotts car but I thank you.
Haters are going to hate, thats for sure. Everyone has something they are interested in and some cant see past that to appreciate the work of others.
I alluded to some of the other winter plans for the car "AP1 intake cam, larger TB, SP exhaust cutout, "reworked" have to wait to see this one intake mani, aftercooler, and maybe a new collector etc. "
There will be a retune in the near future. I can only imagine it will be performed by Scott and I. May be in conjunction with Chad as well. We like using their shop.
