I dont think you have had a test pipe on your car b4 but #1 it smells like absolute shit outside your car #2 you will pollute the environment more and #3 he would have to change his whole exhaust system by your logic to improve exhast flow - the expenses just keep piling up , huh?
Actually I have a T1R testpipe on my car right now, and the smell is not really a factor unless you put your face next to the mufflers, and anyone that wants to go turbo and keep the stock exhaust needs their logic examined, but yes, I agree, the costs of a turbo setup done correctly the first time are far from cheap.

Some people dont want to be bothered by the police.
Also, any exhaust that will flow enough to be used with a turbo kit will be pretty loud and not everbody wants to drive everyday with a loud exhaust.

I think you are posting in the wrong thread.

Or spend another $30 and get a 3" high flow cat and call it a day

And back on topic. This is a very bias question. Are you looking for power? Easy of installation? Easy tuning (oxymoron I know)? As someone already mentioned, start reading and make a educated decision rather than one off of word of mouth.

What makes you think that?

Some one please correct me if I am wrong but the reason that I added the test pipe is because the down pipe will not just bolt up to your original converter. If you want to use your stock exhaust like I am until I get enough money for 4" than it is mandatory. One side gets welded to the down pipe and the other side bolts up to your exhaust.

I think that if someone chooses to go turbo, any sentiment of having a "quiet" car is traded for power and torque. I agree that "not everybody wants to drive everyday with a loud exhaust" but I'd be willing to bet that any body that goes Turbo will be able to live with the extra noise. A better topic for your comments would be, for example, "Is having a Turbo worth all the trouble?" But that is not the current debate.

You are correct, a high flow cat will not "bolt on". You can weld a flange to match our downpipes onto the front of the cat and it should work, but otherwise the primary purpose of our test pipes is for ease of installation for our customers, ie, BOLT ON.
A turbo S will not pass smog with real management anyway, so why bother with a cat?

There is an alarming number of people recently that are getting built motors. The reason I say alarming is because over 75% of these people have blown their original motor. It doesn't matter which kit or turbo you choose the possibility of doing damage to this engine will always be there. Just be careful and monitor the hell out of your engine.
