Default Best way to install ILP hot side.

hey guys, im installing ARP manifold studs tonight since i just got my manifold and turbo hot side back from swaintech today.

my question is.. whats the best way to do it?

i already have the motor jacked up and tilted, but i heard these ARP studs are longer than stock.
so it is possible to screw them in through the manifold with the manifold in place?
instead of installing the studs first and then trying to fit the manifold and turbo..

also, do the nuts/washers that come with the the ARP studs work well or do you guys still have trouble with them backing out?

Stage 1 is a different story! I have never installed mine with ARP studs, but it is a pita with the stock ones.

its the ILP stage 1 log manifold.

i installed it once before with the turbo attached and the motor tilted with stocks studs, and it wasnt too terrible haha
but like i said, i heard the ARP studs are longer so i was just seeing if anyone had any better ways to do it..
i think im going to try to set the manifold and turbo in place and then screw the studs in through the manifold.

Good call on the swaintech. I haven't heard of a lot of people that actually run that coating.

thanks
my brother had a DSM (now he has an EVO), and i guess a lot of the DSM guys use Swaintech.
i havent really heard anything but good reviews about it, so i went with them!

and as far as the install, if you can't screw the new studs in by hand, it is impossible to install the ARP studs on the bottom of the ILP stage 1 log manifold with the allen key.

so if you jack the motor up, remove the v-tec controller, and remove the compressor housing of the turbo.. you can easilyyy get the whole manifold and turbo installed with the ARP studs installed.
