Bigger battery for forced induction?
#51
Every battery I've bought for my S(two so far) was a 500 CCA battery and that is for a battery the same size as the stock battery. I don't know what the CCA for a "stock original" battery was but why would Honda make a battery with less CCA than all the aftermarket battery makers make?

Yup, first battery I bought for my '06 S was in '10 at Auto Zone and it was a 500CCA battery, second one I got at Costco and it to was a 500CCA battery. Not as big of a choice of batterys at Costco but I like their guarantee.

ah that does make sense. 450+ cca is prob all you need for our cars. anyone know the average life of our alternators? im still on my original one, seems to be charging okay.

not sure on the size of that battery. S2k only needs 410-500 cca. Again the 2015 I got was only $199. Now they do make carbon fiber ones that cost more. The g20 is a lithium ion battery and has way more cca than what a s2 needs. Totally different class and type of battery.

The G20 has 697 PCA and the CCA for that battery is less, I think a lot less. How much less I don't know but I did E-mail Braille for a answer. My old deep cycle battery's were 875 MCA (Marine Cranking Amps @ 32*f) but only 685 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps@ 0*f). MCA and CCA put a load on the battery for 30 sec. and PCA is under load for 5 sec. or less at a higher temp.

We have a cold front coming into bakerBakers and my car with this new battery 24f 750cca on full e85 took three different cranks to turn on. Now with half e85 and half 91 it turned on first crank Everytime... Been good so far and I'm happy with not having to take the jump box out from the trunk.
