Default bigger or smaller? turbo

New to the Turbo game just picked up a used kit. Pfab Elt top mount Mani with a S256 Turbo. My goal was 550-600whp on E85. Stock F20. Now I'm thinking this Turbo is to small to reach my goal, but my guess is it will spool quick. This is a street car that sees the drag strip a few times a year. Should I spend the extra 1200+ on a new Turbo for an extra 50whp? Or will the power band of the smaller Turbo be better for the streets? Just not sure if its worth spending the extra money or just Max my S256 out.

From what I have read on the S256 makes a bit more power than a gt30xx. But I seen specs saying Max HP is 550. I would love to hit 600 but still not even sure the fuel set up would get me to 600 walbro 416 e85 pump and ID1300s. So if I did jump up to a bigger Turbo would this fuel set up be enough? I would just hate to get up there and not make the numbers I want. But don't want to go to big where I have alot of lag.

U can pick up a used gt35r for around 800 and the 1300's will get u to 600 on e85. At stock fuel pressure, they will be close to max duty but they'll get u there.

I would buy new. And hows the spool? Kinda would like to stick with Borg Warner. Don't want to run coolant lines and cheap to re-build

you will. I have a 5858 and the power band is really nice. I don't understand why some people think a 6766 or gt42 is a good idea on a street car. perfectly fine if your 100% throttle all the time but I like to be able to spool up around town and the response is great

Well talked to bullseye Turbo and they said thet the s256 would be at its limits with race /E85 and still not sure if it would make 550whp
They said they could install a billet 59mm wheel to replace the standard 56mm for $550 and said it will make over 600whp but spool just as quick as the 56mm would. Think that's a fair price?
