That is true I am always tweaking the timing to maximize performance for the track..
I run different timing curves for the Autox then I run on the street.

But I have not had to open my hood for a mechanical issue.

You need to be tuned for it, E85 gets used at a much higher rate, and your mileage goes down, the fuel supply requirements go up compared to gasoline. Depending on what hp level you are aiming for will dictate if you need fuel component upgrades. You will need bigger injectors to hit the same hp level as with gasoline given all else the same, and in turn your fuel pump would need to be upgraded to supply the injectors. The benefit is you get a high octane fuel which you can run more boost and make more power assuming you upgrade your fuel system. The draw backs seem to be expensive, fuel isn’t available everywhere and the same power can be accomplished with a water/meth injection kit without all the draw backs.
I live in Iowa. We have quite a lot of those stations around the larger cities. But I don't think it would be worth it even at 2.00 a gallon anyways.

For how many miles so far?

Overall its not hard to make big numbers on the stock motor, the problem is to make those big numbers reliably for a long time and many miles.
