If you really wanted an atmospheric dump, the correct way to do it would be weld the flapper door closed on the internal wastegate and fab up a pipe to fit an external wastegate to the system and have that vent to atmosphere.

The way that you are describing will probably be a hack job and not help anything.
It's not a hack if it's done properly. It has been done for ages on lots of nissan silvia to control top end. This is nothing new. You can actually order this sort of dump pipe for nissan silvia (aka 240SX or something like that in your country but I got a feeling that u guys didn't get the turbo version). External gate is another option but why bother keeping an internal gate turbo when you spend all of that effort to convert it to an external gate system

If you think about it, the hack was actually done when the exhaust system was replaced with a higher flowing system. High flowing an exhaust will improve turbo response yet you guys want to keep a low boost. It's a machine after all, you can't really tell it to compromise The atmosphere vent WILL improve top end and the boost creep. Extending the wastegate pipe MAY improve the creep by reducing turbulence.

With the gt3076 I am running I have no boost creep so far and it's internally waste gated, I also have a 3" DP which was one of the first things my tuner said to do, he really disliked how it was set up and made a whole new one. I am running a 3" TP to a V3 no problems. The WG on the greddy is just too small.

I tried one of those downpipes for the S13 /S14 and it hit the transmission.

I think i'm going v-band like this: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant...tegory_Code=BCS

With this pipe going down from it: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant...tegory_Code=BCS

They also have weld on flanges, in stainless and mild steel with oval to 3" round to go with it but it needs to be welded together. http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant...tegory_Code=BCS and the oval piece: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant...tegory_Code=BCS

Yes you all are welcome.

If I remember correctly, the SR engine in the s13/14 has the turbo on the left side of the car, whereas the f20c is on the right. It will be hard to fit their dump pipe into the s2k. You also have to be aware that the Greddy turbo wastegate swings in the opposite direction to the garrett turbo. Depending on the radius of the bend in the dump pipe, there may not be enough clearance for the gate. You should check before installation.

It is easier to get an exhaust shop to modify the existing dump. There isn't much work involve.
