Default boosted to burnt to built

I have had an interesting journey to where I am right now. I am currently on my second ap1 s2000 and this is how I got there

My first s2000 went from this

to this

to this

explained here https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/873...#entry20659129

This is the motor pulled from my car. It has an inline pro 3mm head gasket, arp headstuds, supertech built head, and updated banjo bolts

insurance totaled it so I bought it back pulled the motor, tranny, turbo kit, and all supporting mods and sold that shell and while I was doing that my shop came across a complete f20 motor that needs a new crank because it has very minor rod knock but it was dirt cheap so I couldn't pass it up

and I found another s2000 from a member on here

I pulled and sold the motor out of the one a just bought so now I have my original motor with the built head and the extra motor with the bad bottom end. So the plan is to build the bottom end of the motor that needs a new crank then use my built head to form one motor then put the stock head on the good stock bottom end to make another good motor to sell.

Now the plan is to build a 2.4 liter. For the build this is what me and my shop have decided thus far:

-I'm going to buy a f22 crank
-darton mid sleeve kit
-JE pistons
-BC rods with 625 hardware upgrade
-ACL race bearings (staggered)

That's the journey and the plan, what do yall think?

I'd go with Carillo rods over the BC junk and CP pistons.

I trust my shop and what they do and if they like using BC rods and JE pistons then I'm ok with that BUT I did ask for people opinions for a reason so on that note do BC rods and JE pistons have some flaw or problem?

BC is just known not to be all that good of stuff and JE is pretty good, but not near as good as CP IMO. Carillo rods are some of the best out there and are fairly light also.

It's been a while since I made an update but I have been so busy with school thanksgiving break was the first time I touched my car since August. I'm finishing up relocating a few things in the engine bay such as the fuse box, EPS box, and I have the custom ac lines from ghettocrxsi which were on my other s2000. I also removed the air pump and trimmed the molding on the front of the car for my intercooler as well as the places that need to be trimmed for the piping. The only only thing that I still need to do is evacuate my AC so I can install the custom lines and turn that one heater hose that sticks out to the side so it's against the firewall. A few pics of the bay:

The fuse box is getting turned on it's side against the passenger side fender. I had my last one like that with only heat reflecting wrap on the box and no heat shied and it was fine for the 5 months it was on there but this time I'm getting an aluminum heat shield for extra safety. The heat shield will wrap all the way around to cover up the heater lines as well. The battery is getting relocated to the trunk and will be on a breaker so I dont have to worry about fuses.

Now here are pics of the freshly built engine:

The motor started out as a F20 (everything but tranny) I picked up for $500. For the build I ended up going to a 2.3 liter stroker using a new F22 crank, darton mid sleeves, Brian Crower 625 rods, JE pistons, ACL race bearings, ARP head studs, my old supertech head (had under 2500 miles) that has the dual springs, valves (inconel for exhaust), titanium retainers, and new guides. A shop called Abacus Racing sleeved my motor as well as built my head but the rest of the assembly was done by Millennium Racing Development (MRD). MRD warranties any motor they assemble, install, and tune so if I have any issues they fix it for free so I now have a peace of mind. It gets cold here in Virginia so I dont plan on getting the motor dropped in and tuned until late march once it warms up. My turbo compressor, intercooler, and radiator have lots of soot on them from the fire so im cleaning that off right now. To clean the intercooler I used scotch guard pads with wd-40 to clean the bars and end tanks and that works pretty well so I'll do that for the radiator too. For the turbo compressor I used a dremel with a hard polishing wheel. I have eaten through 5 wheels but now the housing is relatively shinny and looks much better than the original dull cast. Now I kinda want to keep going and bring it to a nice polish but I dont know if I want to do the work lol. I'll upload some before and after pics of the turbo, intercooler and radiator soon.
