Boosted IS300 to Boosted S2K ...
I just sold my 2001 Lexus IS300. I had a stage 2 turbo setup putting down 333whp and about 295 lbs of torque.
I going to buy an S2000 either already FI or will have it done immediately after buying. What can I expect in comparison to my previous car? Obviously my car had a great deal more torque then the S2K. Im asking because I've never been in a boosted S before. Will it be anything like the IS? Will 340whp in an S2K feel like 340whp in the IS? Now I know SC'd power is more linear then turbo power. I wouldn't expect it to put me back in my seat although Im hoping it will. I'm most likely going to go with a Comptech SC with AC, exhaust, headers, 550cc injectors, fuel pump and regulator, fuel rail, 9lbs pulley, AEM EMS. The reason I would choose to go SC is because it seems to be the more reliable way to go, well it is with the IS300. I ran into minor issues here and there with the IS after turboing, hoping I won't have to deal with them with a SC'd S2K. Turboing an S would however increase the torque quite a bit, no?
Im new to the S2K scene, obviously, its a completely different car then Im used to. Im starting my learning process now so any POSITIVE input would be greatly appreciated.

Since you had to ask this question I will shoot you my opinion. You will most likely not like the SC on the "S" do to its linear power delivery unless you go hog wild. If you want similar power then a turbo is what you want. You can get an easy 330 to the wheels with a well made turbo set-up. My www.Full-Race set-up made 448 to the wheels and we tuned it down to around 370-400 or so (waiting on dyno time). I can pretty much give you a guarantee that you will have a faster car with the same with the same HP number. Main reason is the S is lighter. The car is not a drag car so 1/4 mile times will be sketchy but from a roll it will be awesome. Hope some of this helps. This is just what I think but I think it is a reasonable assumption.
As you've spec'd the AEM EMS you obviusly want to do this right. And if you do a turbo system right you won't have many problems. Have a look at the LoveFab turbo. It comes with a GT3071R turbo good for the power you want, and AEM EMS and injectors, so it's a well thought out system for the reliability you are after.
I've had mine for a month or so and it's a blast. Previously had the Comptech SC/AC and EMS and although it was a nice improvement over stock it won't impress someone used to a turbo.

Hey,
I have been in both a boosted IS and I own a boost s2k.
FIRST OFF. CANT REALLY COMPARE EM
You are asking everyone to compare a 4 door luxury car to a two door, drop top convertable.
The +'s and -'s are going to be totally diffrent.
What I think you are wondering then is can the S2k live up to the speed of your IS....OH YA IT CAN. With just a good turbo kit like Lovefab's you will be walking all over your old IS in no time.
As for comparing the cars.........THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFRENT.
As for sports car things. The s2k is going to kill the is in everything. Handling, brakes, roadfeel, skidpad.
As for luxury car things the IS is going to win
Nav system, Full leather, Full stereo, WAY MORE ROOM, Soft Ride, Quiete Interior.
SO TO SUM ME UP!!! If you looking to come into a sports car world you will love the S2k. If you want to stay in the Luxery world. Look to go with a M3 or something.
