Alright. I'm going to tackle this as soon as i get a spare. the center section is plastic so that actually gives me tons of opportunities. all i will be using from the stock hanger is the metal mounting ring, gasket and the floater assembly.
Really the 044s are just about a 1/4 inch bigger than the walbros so they may very well fit. you have a FB hanger spoolin?
^ do the pumps sit right up against each other or are they kind of apart? whats is the height that they sit on the hanger? I mean side by side or staggered

They sit side by side with about 3/8" gap between the two. There is a thin hanger that hangs down and comes between the 2 pumps, keeping the pumps about 3/8" apart, that they attach to with a band clamp. The height they sit in the hanger is the same as the stock pump but I have mine adjusted wrong and need to drop them down further. I think there is plenty of room as far as height goes.
Here is a picture of mine, but again, the pumps are too high right now and I have to drop them down some to get them closer to the bottom of the tank.
the 044s may work on that hanger. Although you would have alittle offset on the hose going to the pumps because on the 044 the inlet is in the center of the pump instead of on the side like the 255.
I think all you would have to do is put a 45 deg fitting in place of the straight fitting in the hanger that would angle the hose more towards the center for the Bosch pumps.
I pm'd LJ from FB to see if he thought the Bosch pumps would work on their hanger or if they have tried to make them work. I'll let you guys know what they say.
Im going with a surge tank with twin bosch 44s. Will help with fuel starvation which Ive experience with the intank walbro running less than half tank. Ill post up pics when it gets installed. Sits on the inside of the left rear tire looking from the back.
That looks very nice. You couldn't modify the hole to accommodate the largerpumps? I just don't want to add a surge tank cause I've never had fuel starvation with normal street driving.
I honestly don't feel that I will have a problem from fuel starvation. Really not too big of a fan of adding more parts on the car than I need to. I will still try this and see how it goes. Worst come to worst I will do one intank and the other externally.
