Wel I'm about to order my 2 044 pumps to start on this project. Hopefully i can get both of them to fit into the tank. I'm pretty confident i can fit them. I'll have pictures up as soon as i get started

Im going with a surge tank with twin bosch 44s. Will help with fuel starvation which Ive experience with the intank walbro running less than half tank. Ill post up pics when it gets installed. Sits on the inside of the left rear tire looking from the back.

Thats a cool idea, and works..but I'm not a fan of having a "gas tank" behind my bumper...being a street car I don't think it's a good idea..

A small rear-end collision could result easily in a fire.

yeah i just dont believe i really need the surge tank to do this setup but we will see soon enough. Like you said the idea of the tank right there at the back bumper and rear wheel couls spell disaster even if a tire blew out or something like that.
If all else fails then I'll just have to go with the 255 feeder to the 044 inline.

It's been a while since I updated this but I just haven't have the time to work on the car for work. I just finished up getting the dual pumps in the tank and you would never know that I stuffed two 044s in the stock tank. It honestly came out pretty damn good. I'll post pictures later on today.
What I could use some help on is the wiring. I have 10g wire from the fuel pumps and I'm wondering if I need to run two relays or can I run both pumps on a single 4pin relay? Any wiring gurus please chime in.

I just got a reply from LJ and he said that 2 Bosch pumps on their hanger would be too big to fit into the hole in the tank.
Way too big. One 044 is a tight squeeze in-tank.

Been there.

Did you have to modify the top of the tank to get them to drop in?

Nope. If had to change everything back to stock all I would need is a new top hat for the old plastic hanger. No doubt it is a very tight fit but I made it work out so we'll see how well it performs hopefully by late spring.
