Default BOV with comptech SC

Guys,

I've read about the godzilla BOV on comptech SC's, i know the stock one is bosch divertor valve. I'm only circa 300WHP, novi1000 7psi with bolt on's - so maybe its not worth fitting one at my power level?.

I am right in thinking it may help lower IAT temps?, but wont really do anything else beneficial?

I don't have a major issue with IAT temps to be honest, but would it lower the IAT temps? - I'm currently running a greddy emange ultimate and stock ECU so providing it doesn't get over 45c in WOT it shouldn't pull ignition timing. I'm thinking during hotter days it might help a bit to reduce heat.

If i did fit one, i guess a retune wouldn't really be needed?

Also does anyone have sounds clips of godzilla BOV's or any other BOV's?

Which ones can i fit/buy?

Cheers

I had a TurboSmart Kompact on my Comptech but now have a Turbonetics Godzilla on my turbo.

The Kompact is nice. Just replaces the bosch bypass valve. Of course the Godzilla is plug and play if you have the aftercooler.

I sent Synapse Engineering an email this morning asking about their BOV so the Godzilla might be for sale soon.

Thanks for the info.

Could i not just have the bosch DV vent to atmosphere?

Anyone care to chime in about my questions regarding performance and applicability?

Yes you can just disconnect the Bosch unit from the intake tube. You have to cap the port on the intake tube and you can shorten the rubber hose that connects it to the charge pipe.

But the Bosch unit is cheap plastic and prone to failure. The Turbosmart Kompact comes in three versions: a direct replacement for the Bosch unit, a version that replaces the Bosch unit but has an addition port to atmosphere for extreme discharge, and a version that only has a vent to atmosphere (it comes with a cap for the intake tube).

As to performance, nothing noticeable.

Thanks Aus2000.

So I am right in thinking a BOV for my SC setup (or low powered SC's in general) its purely cosmetic and for aural pleasure? .

I settled with a Synapse on a KW supercharger.
All the other ones are cool but continuous noise gives you a headache after a couple days of coolness factor.
