Question answered sort of... what about spring tension on the release valve on a low pressure system=lower lbs of boost?

I was int ha same boat, only looking for the BOV Pssstt sound. So I picked up a Greddy BOV and mounted it.
I had the tension screw very loose so everyone around me could here it. It sounded wicked. However when I would redline the car, I would have no pressure. I tightened the tension bolt and had more pressure, but would loose it at 7500 rpms. So I tightened it again. Now I have a full 6# of pressure, but no BOV sound.
I guess if I'm trying to impress someone with sounds, I'll carry a wrench with me and loosen the bolt. I think flying by them is a little more impressive though.
Good luck with your decision.
I am at 10psi, with AC and have always run the stock bypass, but recently for what ever reason decided to cap off the AC port and run it to atmosphere like BOV. I don't here anything different really, I assume because its designed exit port is big meant for recirculating the pressure. I don't really notice any difference in anything else either, but though it might be interesting to try and maybe remove any possible issues with running that level of boost for added safety. I might just leave it like this. Anyone else done this?
thanks for all the great replies guys...
From experience, a centrifugal system, aka supercharger is not going to give you the pop that we all hear and try to immitate on turbo systems.
Reason being, that the turbine is spinning much much faster than a belt driven system, so this is what gives off the huge pressure of the turbine, and thus BOV noise that we love to hear.
The video above of the synapse BOV is sure sweet, but the S in that video is running on 12lbs of pressure (smaller pulley).
Although I am at stock settings, I can hear the BOV from the synapse, and it's not too pronounced, but is there, enough for people to turn heads.
I am in the process of selling my car, so the BOV will have to go.
PM me if you're interested. I paid 219 for the BOV and 50 for the 1" flange to bolt right up to the CTSC kit. Works with and without he AC.
I'll let it got for a good price since it is used, but only for about 5 days.
thanks
