outside of distribution channels, I am still curious as to what engine management will come with the kit.
Anyone know?
Will it be this "elf" thing, will it requie one to purchase EMS, or could it come with a pretuned emanage just like the greddy turbo?
I am hoping for a safe plug and play option. I have some experience with modified turbo engines, but they were always turbo cars to begin with. This forced induction aftermarket world is new to me and I don't want to blow up and engine.
And for you beta guys, how is the traction? Are you changing wheels and rubber? I like to downshift to 3rd for freeway passing and would hate to get huge wheelspin. But perhaps now after this SC, one would not need to dig down all the way to third to hit VTEC at 65 for power. Fourth would probably be just fine. Judging from the dyno sheet I could you could probably just leave it in sixth too.
I am pretty sure that the kit will come in tuner form, however, the distributor may offer it with managment of their choice. eManage Ultimate looks like the most likely choice since the AEM F/IC is not ready for prime time on the S2000.
Regarding the kit coming with a safe tune - You still need to have it tuned, not all cars are the same. But.... I know a source that can provide an eManage ULT, PnP harness (boomslang), set all the jumpers and load a map that will get you in the ball park at the tuner.
As an added note - I was driving along the California coast recently and the temps were in the low 70's I was seeing a bit higher boost and the car was running amazingly strong. If I had to compare it to my dyno I would put it at a good 40-50 hp more that the dyno (dyno was at 1500 ft ASL and temps were around 90-95).
Cant wait until it cools down to 60-70 here so I can go dyno again.

I will have to keep that in mind as that sounds like a great option.
Care to comment on traction?
My MR2 turbo had a guesstimated hp of probably about 300 (never had it dynoed but had same modification as others in that range) and it was not too scary to drive, but the weight was over the drive wheels. Having driven the midengine for so many years, the S seems a little squirrely in comparison if there is the slightest loose gravel or moisture.
I do not have much a problem with traction. It is easy to break the back end loose if you give it a little to much throttle going around a corner - but straight line there is not issue (unless you are trying to do it).
On twisty roads you can get a little loose in the curves if you over-accelerate through the curve - but I typically run neutral throttle through most of the curve, accelerating out of it. Of course gravel and sand on the road make it more an issue.

A couple more pics of the NACA duct. I cleaned it up a bit more and got some flat/satin black paint on it. Will be good enough until I get the front end repainted (hoping before the Homecoming event in Cali).

NICE!
Thanks man - unfortunately I will not be able to get it painted prior to homecoming. The paint will not be cured in time to clear-bra it, and the reason I am re-painting is to clean up all the rock chips.
