Built block prior to going FI
I am interested in going FI within the next year or so. The timing will primarily depend upon the whole DBW issue being resolved. Anyways, I will be shooting for big numbers--around 400-500whp--and therefore want to ensure the block is capable of supporting this type of power. I plan on having the block sleeved; ported/polished/blueprinted; titanium valves, springs, retainers; ARP head studs; TBD rod bolts; and TBD cams.
Would there be any drawbacks (potential problems) if I had my motor fully built prior to going FI? I don't (won't) have enough funds to have the motor built and a turbo kit installed, so I'll need to do it in stages.

You do know that titanium retainers are only going to be good for about 10K miles before they start to gall, right?

A low compression built motor will be slower NA. Should run fine though.

Ferrea titanium valves...

Not saying these are the valves I will end up getting, but they are one example of a titanium valve.
