For cost the k24 crank will most likely be cheaper. The k24 crank will need to have some machine work done (beveled lip/ journals). From what i have seen the k24 crank doesnt like engine speeds over 8000rpm. So it all depends on what you want. I would run mahle gold series low compression pistons 87.50mm with eagle rods, and ACL or any other brand race rod bearings.
And yes u must machine the rods in order to fit the crank.....Heres the complete specs on what u need for the f24c.

F24c Build

aftermarket rods for the k24 won't fit in the f22 block? So I don't have to machine the rods? I'm thinking of it like this. Sleeved motor + machine k24 crank, rods that will fit the k24 crank and f22 block so I don't have to machine those and low comp pistons. I don't mind reving to just 8k I do it now and throwing 30 psi at it. I just don't want to tear this thing apart again. This would be a nasty set up if I can make it work.

Your build is F20 block, K24 crank, K1 technology H22/K24/F20 hybrid rods, and H22 mahle -5cc pistons.

Chris knows tons about this setup...This is the setup i will be running for the rebuild next year.
From personal experience the f24c setup is a monster, especially with some boost :-)

Take a look at that weblink i posted, and ull get a really good idea of what is involved.

Inline pro stroke will let you rev to 10.5k. Running the hybrid with the 24 will severely limit your rev range.

....but its all about what you want..My f24c is used for drifting, so low rev and quick boost is what i need, but im sure u wont be slamming the S around corner sideways lol
Im not an expert on the subject, but if your looking for well over 500hp, the k24 crank with forged setup like chris said will do it for u, on top of that u will have TONS more tq.. I was putting down 320hp/370tq on cracked ring lands on 10psi. Forged setup, and a MUCH bigger turbo will easily put u over 500hp.
The whole point of the k24 setup is going to be less rotational mass. The f24c makes it a short rod setup. My motor just wants to go with any type of gas at any rpm range.
Im not trying to drive u away from an IP kit or anyothers, but ive been in few s2k's and i personally like the f24c setup. I havent been in a S with an IP kit yet, but ik they carry great products and take care of their own if u decide to go that route.

True. Not saying I shouldn't be done. Just pointing it out. Thought it was pertinent to the discussion.
