Hey guys! Nothing major, but i thought id share some issues that have come up due to heat.....Some of you know iv had my car in the shop. While there my mechanic noticed my fuse box was melting due to the heat coming from the turbo. Also he found the motor mount right below the turbo was shot. He fabbed a heat shield for the motor mount and wrapped it with a heat wrap. I also bought a ARC fuse box heat shield. Id recommend both to avoid a similar problem.
Ya and InlinePRO -- any comments about this?

Hmmm good idea, thanks

Would an engine torque brace make the ride harsher? Meaning, will the car vibrate and shake more when the motor is running?
Yeah, you'll get a little more driveline vibration but it's worth it. I had one in my FD and it actually helped during very hard acceleration shifts. The engine wouldn't turn over so the tranny would remain planted and it helped with missed shifts and that kind of nonsense. It's a more economical solution. Besides, you have a turbo S2000...a little driveline vibration makes it feel racier!

As far as the fuse box melting, we haven't seen that problem on our street car. This is the first incident, maybe we can try to create something similar to the ARC box.

As far as the mounts concerned, If you had a stock s2k on the lift, you can literally rock the motor with your hands. The engine mounts on the s2k are really soft and liquid filled. I'm sure heat has a lot to do with the mounts being ruined, but also when you add that much torque and shift hard, i'm sure that hurts the s2k mounts a lot.

We are in the middle of designing motor mounts for the s2k, hopefully later this year?
