Default Cammed?

Just wondering why I never see any S2K's with aftermarket cams when running with FI. I currently have a GTO and to get into any kind of FI you need a blower cam. Is AP1/AP2 stock cams exactly what you need and there is no benifit from after market cams. Or is there some other downfall or set back to using a so called "big cam" with a honda motor.

Very different from my car. Cam is pretty much everything for me. I gained 145hp off one.

cams and porting the head aren't needed with f2x motors. the stock head will flow more than 99% of us will ever need. lots of 600+ s2k's with no headwork

With variable valve timing such as vtec in the honda motors, they are already "cammed" without the drawbacks or compromises. I don't know what GTO motor your running if its a single cam or dual overhead cams, but the idea with variable valve timing is to get the efficiency of an economic single cam motor and the performance of a high lift high duration cam in the same package.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Overhead Cam motors aren't something any GTOs had in them. Cam in block, I believe for all V8s.
