I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Overhead Cam motors aren't something any GTOs had in them. Cam in block, I believe for all V8s.
Mustang GT 4.7 liter v8 had dual overhead cams right? GTO's were in production within the last 10 years also. I know that they had a 350hp and 400hp model LS2 I think. I just don't know if these are overhead cam motors, dual or quad.

We're talking about GTOs not Mustangs.....

The newer Holden/GTOs were cam in block engines.

Oh ok... well that makes sense with the gains in power from a cam change. Single cam v8's show the most improvement.

Yup one single Cam. Big power gains but not as efficient as a honda

Honda owns the VTEC technology and you will most likely never see it in any other non-Honda vehicle. The technologies that try and come close to resemble Honda's VTEC technology are things like Mitsu's MIVEC or Toyota's VVT and they still arent VTEC. Their technology is just the cam timing adjustment much like the "i" in the newer VTEC. VTEC pretty much dominates everyone else in regards to implementing great fuel economy and tameness in mild mode with a high reving, high hp killer in wild mode.

without your cams what kind of power difference do you think you'd see. less torque?
less overall power. Airflow was actually an issue in the build.

dont need cams, vtec lobe on stock cam is pretty aggressive for a street car .

but for a pushrod V8, nothing beats a patrick G cam and a custom tune.

he popped a mild cam in it, thing loped at idle, sounded so friggin mean. made 430whp on a dynojet with cheapo headers.
