Default Camshaft Angle Positioning Sensor

So when I was supercharged my car would do this really stupid thing when all of a sudden it would cut the rev limiter to 3000 and not allow me to go over, I would turn the key off and on and it would go away. Sometimes do it right away again, sometimes not for a week.

I ran the code and it was the camshaft angle positioning sensor. I had this problem for about 2 months and then it just went away. So now the turbo is on and it came back with EMS. I don't know if i can check the code to see it is the sensor again, but the symptoms are the same.

Anyone else ever had this problem?

When I had the SC I was still running a stock ECU. I don't know what is causing the problem now with the EMS in there but it might be the same sensor.

Anyone have trouble with this sensor?

Is there a error log in the EMS where I could check whats going wrong?

there might be a way to go into the ems to check how that sensor is working. you wont be able to pull the code though. If it were me, and you had that code in the past i would take a quick peak over the wiring to that sensor to see if it got cut or crushedif its fine then i would find someone parting out and buy that sensor from someone for cheap to see if it fixes your problem. goodluck.

I have the Vortech SC on an 05 that was installed by a good shop and all went well for the first 3K miles. Now when I get on it I also get the same code, first it was sensor bank A, then it turned into both A & B banks. This is without going over redline, but close to it. My OBD reader clears the code and after several times of this happening I went to the shop manual and the trouble shooting sequence indicates the impedance check of both sensors are fine and neither has a short to ground so it appears the sensors are operating ok. I'll have to call the techs at Vortech to get additional input..
