Doing little oil research thru here and there. Found this thread thru evo forum. Something to read if you got nothing to do now.

came across this a while back as i was on the evolutionm forum with my evo.

couple things, yes, it was proven. and yes, changing from mobile one for those of you with JB turbo's would be a sound choice.

i am sticking with castrol edge personally.

Wow, that's interesting. I was going to use Mobil 1 but couldn't find the weight I wanted... Now I'm glad I couldn't! I'm using Redline and am happy with it.

That thread is just like any other oil thread, i.e. not substantiated with any hard facts.

I used Mobil 1 in my Evo, in my Nissan, in my CBR 600RR and in the S2k. There is no magic oil that is totally superior to any other oil.

If you want a reliable engine, it's as simple as this: change the oil often. Don't go to a track day using oil that's 4k miles old or has multiple track days on it already.

i used the free recycled oil that comes out of the pump at my dealership on my 772whp s2000 with stock 130k mile motor.

oh yeah shees still running.
