Default clutch break in

I am changing my clutch to a competition stage 4. I have a full blown turbo kit that I'm ready to install. What would be better...to break my clutch in at stock power level then install the kit, or install the kit and get tuned...then break it in. I will be doing an evans etune btw...I do plan to go to a dyno tuner later on, my schedule is too busy at the moment to trailer my car out of town.

The better question is what would you do. Everything is torn apart right now since I dropped my transmission, it will be a little easier to do the install right now since my car is on jack stands. I've read of people breaking their clutches in while tuning, I just don't to mess up my clutch since the install is a pita.

Evans is comfortable etuning 10-12 psi, I read his etune is 90% of a dyno tune. At 299 I'd like to try it out.

I also horded all my performance stuff in a room untill I had everything ready to transform the car. What I did was install a new clutch, fywheel, header and testpipe first. Drove it around for one week gettin my 500miles in. The following weekend I threw on the SC kit and went for a tune.

If I did both of them at the same time, I probably wouldnt be able to restrain myself from romping on it, risking the clutch. Hell, I couldnt restain my self romping on it to see what the header and test pipe would do. Luckly the car was still not powerfull enough to easly damage the clutch.

I currently installed an ACT HDPP on my car and I did drive around moderately for the first 500 miles. I also know pleanty of people who have gone straight to the track after installing their new clutch and never had any problems. If you are worried about the clutch's longevity, just dont stomp on it till you hit your 500 city miles in. Drive casually and not in boost and you will be fine, as long as your etune is good. Then go get your dyno tune.

IIRC, the CC stage 4 is a 6 puck-style clutch right? If that's so a break in is not necessary. Mine went straight from install to the dyno. The disc clutches do require a 200-500 mile break-in

It's a 6 puck. I'm leaning towards installing everything and driving it easy for a while. Thanks for the input.
