So you offered a refund, was it ever completed? Can you explain the attempts described by Tom that were made to terminate communication between you two?
"As an industry standard there are no refunds..." Dude... C`mon... I never get involved in these kinds of situations but that is just Ludacris! By saying that you are pretty much condemning customers to have zero chance to hold a shop accountable for their actions. Unfortunately this is the kind of story that scares me... like you said if he never opened the motor there never would had been an issue. BUT HE DID and there were things wrong... all I have to say is what is wrong in other peoples motors that they have never opened.
At the end of the day I feel a lot of people think they are capable of building top level motors when they should not be. If you don't have the quality control to put the correct parts in the motor how can I trust that person with assembling tight tolerances on a race engine.

The only 2 people that will ever touch a Honda motor I own
Just an update it's now been a week with no response on when my car will be finished seems I'm being ignored. I honestly don't feel that he cares about us as customers or people. He doesn't realize the impact this has had on our lives for almost a year. I just want my car fixed correctly and returned to me so we can go our separate ways.
After several months to wait and only 1200$ refund, no news from Jason. But he's an active guy on FB.
There is no action to pay the remaining $ 8,000. This man built a bullshit engine and sell a dream to others customers. It's crazy.
Action is underway with north carolina department of justice consumer protection division.

Oo. Becarful about leaving your car at a shop that long without checking in on it in person. I made the mistake of doing that and the shop stole my money, took my car apart, moved my car, and sold some of my parts. I ended up going back to getting a car in pieces, missing a ton of parts, and no engine, as well as loss of over 3k.
I got my car back he straight up took my Aem guages that were in the car then had the nerve to say well I thought you came and got them.Zebulon police are aware of whats going on I filed a report. I cant really comment more on this right now.
