Comptech 1/4 mile

The F'in pulley belt was slipping like crazy, best run it got was a 14.2 lol We're gonna get his car straightened out and go for another run. I drove it once, I launched at 6k and the tires hooked hard, but I didn't slip the clutch enough and it bogged, not my car so learning to drive it, I was thinking I screwed the run completely then it hit 6k rpm and the rear end squatted hard and I was thinking ok this might be a decent run, shifted to second car fell on its face all the way to 9k, third same, 4th same, disappointing, but we'll get it fixed and get a real time. We raced on the highway going back home and my car with its mods beat him, he said the charger went to 7psi then fell to 3psi. Car ran like crap. New times to come. My car is probably good for a 13.9 at our track with its current mods. Shock

I soldered all ECU connections in July after taking my girlfriend out on two embarassing dates where we ended-up drving home in limp mode...The belt has about 1/2" of twist. I don't think I tightened it correctly when I rebuilt the car. We will get high 12's before the track closes. Never the less, I did beat a 2007 Charger and a k20 swap Civic. Trap speed was 99 mph.
What do you guys think about MAP sensor upgrades? I am thinking about switching pulleys for higher boost. What does everyone else run?

I dunno if I've read it right but it sounds like you haven't upgraded your engine management yet?
Don't run 9psi if you are still on stock ECU, your motor will die.

So is this your car bondoBuilder that ShocK was talking about and drove at the track?

Shock did one run, when he lost boost..I think his time was 14.7?
I had the best run with 14.2
I thought Shock would do better than me, seeing he was able to run a 13.9 in his NA s2k. We'll get high 12's when I get it figured out.
The system, has an 8# ASP racing pulley on it. When I dynoed the car the computer read it as 9# max boost.
What is up with the ECU suggestion, I thought that CTSC was complete bolt-on? (Yes I know I alktered the suggested boost, but I thought our cars were good for 10# before needing a better MAP sensor or ECU) Do I need an emanage system?
The Comptech is bolt on with the standard pulley that it comes with. The little black box you splice in is setup for the boost that pulley gives.
Change the pulley and you're going to have to do something else, I can't remember if that little box can be tweaked or not, there may be a pot in there you can tweak around.
If not, you'll need to do something more than fooling the ECU. I'm not fond of splice ins (anymore) just get an EMS and be done with it.
Also, you run more boost and that's fine, you're going to need more fuel too. Once you go to a bigger injector, you'll have to drop the ECU.
The stock FPR and the Comptech FPR also cannot handle the bigger injectors, you'll need something better. AEM makes one that works just fine.

6# of boost is better than none.
Thanks guys.
I'd switch it back, put the stock MAP sensor back on, makes sure the comptech black box is spliced in right. If they aren't, they can blow, I burned through 3 of them over the years before going to an EMS, just one of those stupid "which wire goes where again?" moments. Put the wrong wire in the wrong spot and no more black box.
There is a way to test them, I just don't remember what it is.
As for belt tightness, I think it's 1.0-1.5" of movement if you push on it, it's been so long...

I still have the Comptech pulley. I may switch it back, replace the MAP, and make sure the belt is tight.

Thankfully your car is going into limp mode and thankfully your belt is slipping, otherwise I bet you would be looking for a new motor now.
When you had it dyno'd on the 9psi what were your A/F's? (air/fuel ratio)
Air:Fuel was 11ish
The funny thing is that this set-up ran fine on the dyno and the 990mile trip home. (I bought the car wrecked and rebuilt it)
I just took the ASP pulley off and put the Comptech one back on. I have a new Honda OEM MAP on the way. Hopefully I can get some boost soon!!
