Hey guys, so the used comptech kit I bought didn't come with an airbox but I was told it would be okay to run without one, at least for a bit.
But here's the issue I just realized (getting ready to install on Saturday): I don't think the filter provided can fit without the airbox!
So, the elbow joint coming from the blower is much smaller than the backside of the filter. Am I missing some pieces?? I'll try to attach pics but I'm on my phone.

There should be a velocity stack on the end of that elbow joint, sounds like the previous owner maybe cut it off.

Post a pic of your elbow piece. My CT kit is as old as they get so maybe different, but the air box isn't required. My CT provided filter disintegrated so I replaced it with this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ABMIH6 and it was a direct fit to the end of that elbow.

 

So, after some more research, it turns out that there is another coupler that attaches to the filter that will make the end smaller to fit to my elbow joint. Someone told me to call Comptech to see if I can buy that piece from them.

Here is essentially what I'm missing. Sounds like what you're talking about. That little piece connecting the elbow and the filter.
