i have the comptech supercharger on my car and recently purchased a mugen hood. my question is that i believe that the hood hits the top of the airbox when i close it cause it bumps up on that side is there any way you can mod the airbox to make it shorter? is it okay to run the filter without the airbox? any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! jack.
I wouldn't run the filter with no air box as it will draw in hot air. My suggestion is to find out where it hits and then grind that part down with a dremel tool.

Do you have the aftercooler? If you do, I don't think the heat would be a huge issue since the air cools down by the time it hit the aftercooler. I might be wrong, but it sounds good . or at least that should be the case with a intercooler.
Also, if you spent a $$$, you could try running a cold air style intake having the filter down by the front bumper. Something like this setup a member used for his turbo setup:
thanks for the help guys! the pics here are exactly what i've been thinking about doing. i'll have to see where the filter will end up with my mugen ss front bumper. will also need to find someone the bend the piping. must think more...
